South Harbour Rockwork

FRPD was contracted to relocate materials from an existing breakwater, and incorporate the materials into a new, larger breakwater to expand the City of Powell River South Harbour. This new breakwater allowed for an expansion of the South Harbour marina and floats, increasing the City of Powell River’s capacity for cruising yachts and commercial boats to stay.

FRPD utilized our McKenzie Derrick and several FRPD barges to relocate the existing rock with clamshell bucket, and use that material as the core for the new breakwater.
