Berezan: Warehouse Concrete Pile Installation
FRPD was contracted to install deep foundation piles for a major industrial warehouse development spanning 140 hectares in Surrey, BC. The project required large-scale concrete pile production, multi-crew coordination and high-volume installation across three site quadrants over an 18-month period.
Problem
The warehouse development required a high-capacity foundation system capable of supporting large-span industrial buildings across a vast footprint. Pile installation needed to achieve consistent performance from 25-m to 50-m depths, while meeting tight production targets.
The scale of work demanded multiple crane setups, coordinated crew rotations and on-site fabrication of reinforced concrete pile sections to maintain schedule.
Solution
FRPD delivered the complete concrete piling program, installing more than 4,000 piles comprising over 14,000 individual sections. Crews operated three dedicated crane and hammer setups, supported by an on-site pile fabrication and splicing team to maintain continuous production.

Key Facts
- Completed piling across 140 hectares of industrial development
- Executed work over 18 months across three quadrants
- Installed 4,000+ reinforced concrete piles (25–50 m deep) using 14,000 sections
- Fabricated 6–12 m reinforced concrete pile sections on site, complete with end plates
- Utilized three crane-driven installation systems: the first with a 5-person crew with HHK-7S hydraulic hammer and fixed leads; the second with a 5-person crew with HHK-5S hydraulic hammer and floating box leads; the third with a 4-person welding crew dedicated to splicing concrete pile sections
- Maintained continuous production through synchronized hammering, splicing and crane operations
FRPD’s large-scale piling program provided a robust foundation system for one of Surrey’s largest industrial developments, delivered safely and efficiently through coordinated multi-crew operations.
