FRPD was contracted by Wales McLelland to supply and install continuous flight auger (CFA) piles for the Enterprise Paper facility. The work provided deep foundation support for new industrial building infrastructure.

Problem

The project required a reliable deep foundation system capable of supporting new structural loads in variable ground conditions. CFA piles were selected to minimize vibration, reduce noise impacts and allow installation in a constrained industrial environment. Precision drilling, reinforcement placement, and concrete delivery were essential to achieve the required capacity and quality.

Solution

FRPD supplied and installed 92 CFA piles, each designed to meet the project’s structural and geotechnical requirements. Crews executed continuous drilling, completed full-length reinforcement placement and poured high-strength concrete to create consistent, high-capacity foundation elements.

Key Facts
  • Installed 92 CFA piles, each 20” diameter and 20-m long
  • Placed 15-m rebar cages in each pile to meet structural requirements
  • Used 35 MPa concrete for pile construction
  • Delivered vibration-controlled piling suitable for an active industrial site

FRPD’s CFA piling program provided Enterprise Paper with a high-quality, low-vibration foundation system, installed safely and efficiently to support new industrial development.
