Project Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager to work within the Construction team. This position will report to the Construction Division Manager. The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced, high-energy, challenging environment, working for an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly accountable for all aspects of project performance
  • Communicate and provide direction and support to the field crew
  • Develop strong working relationships with unionized labour force, Divisional Managers, and Superintendents
  • Preparing a safe work plan and hazard assessment of the site and trades/work that will be undertaken
  • Oversee and ensure all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements/inspections are met on site
  • Ensure that required material suppliers and/or sub-contractors are provided with ample time and knowledge of the work that is to be completed
  • Submit requests and ensure all permits and all permissions are in place prior to the work commencing
  • Approve all material and manpower requirements via invoices and/or time sheets for the projects being managed
  • Prepare project-related client invoices and provide supporting documentation where required
  • Extensive travel is expected and is a requirement of the role

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years related construction experience with at least 5 working directly in a Project Management or similar role
  • Diploma in Civil Technology or Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Direct knowledge and experience in marine construction
  • Eligible for AScT or P.Eng registration in the province of B.C.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge and ability to plan and supervise site survey work
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, AutoCAD)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Ability to travel as required (within Western Canada)
  • Creative, highly motivated with superior organizational skills, results orientated and committed to team success
