Overview:

  • CXP is hiring a full-time Contracts Professional (Contracts Manager) for work on the Centerm Project.  Reporting to the Project Manager, the Contracts Professional will perform the full scope of common contract management duties for a complex infrastructure project.

  • The Contract Professional will interpret contract requirements, provide advice and recommendations to the businesses and minimize risk exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the rights and liabilities of the project contract
  • Lead the Project’s Change Management process, including liaising with discipline engineers to interpret technical compliance against contract requirements
  • Advise the Project Manager regarding required actions to protect company rights and limit liabilities exposure
  • Prepare position papers for the Project Manager for any contractual issues that may arise during the execution of the Project
  • Prepare, negotiate, issue and monitor execution of contracts, purchase orders, service orders and change orders to meet Project schedule requirements for procurement of services and equipment (including formation, administration and close out) for a complex infrastructure project
  • Analyze supplier contractual terms and conditions and recommend innovative approaches to contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure
  • Communicate consistent contractual positions, support supplier negotiations, assess risk and approve payments
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years contract management, procurement management, vendor management and experience negotiating commercial purchasing of complex infrastructure projects from $200M-$400M
  • Success handling complex high dollar contracts specific to the purchase of construction materials and services
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success working in a construction environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language with demonstrated ability to develop and communicate clearly with all levels of stakeholders. Communicate consistent contractual positions.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred, MBA an asset
  • Strong knowledge of contract law
  • Proficiency in SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, MS Office platforms an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada
